How to Choose
Choose by the writing script used for the text in the video, not by country. For example, Kazakh uses Cyrillic letters, so choose “Cyrillic”; Vietnamese uses Latin letters, so choose “Latin Script.” Setting location: “Select Device” → “Recognition Language.” When using artistic text recognition, choose it in its own settings; the list is the same.

The first 5 options have the same effect; Chinese, Japanese, English, French, etc. can be recognized even when mixed together.

Russian appears in both “East Slavic” and “Cyrillic”: if only Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian are present, choose “East Slavic”; if mixed with Bulgarian, Serbian, Kazakh, or other Cyrillic text, choose “Cyrillic.”
Unsupported Languages
The following scripts currently do not have corresponding recognition models. No matter which option is selected, the text content cannot be recognized.

If you only want to remove watermarks or subtitles in these scripts and do not need to recognize the content, you can try “Simplified Chinese / English”; sometimes it can still find the text positions, but results vary by video.
FAQ
What should I do if a video contains two languages at the same time? If Chinese, Japanese, English, and European Latin-script languages are mixed, choose any of the first five options. For Chinese mixed with Korean, Thai, Russian, etc., there is no option that can recognize both at the same time; choose according to the text you need to remove. Almost all options include English and numbers.
Can Vietnamese be recognized? It can recognize letters, but most tone-marked letters (such as ạ, ấ, ự) are not recognized and will be recognized as letters without tone marks or missed. It basically does not affect locating subtitle or watermark areas; when accurate text content is needed, the effect is limited.
Why is it slower the first time I select a language? Except for Simplified Chinese / English, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Latin Script, other languages need to be prepared online the first time they are used. Please keep the network connected and wait a moment; after that it will be fast. When multiple windows are open at the same time, it is recommended to use it once in one window first, then use the other windows.
Which languages does “Recognition Model Size” affect? It only affects Simplified Chinese / English, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Latin Script: “Tiny” is fastest, “Small” is default, and “Medium” is most accurate but slowest. Changing the size has no effect on other languages.
I selected the corresponding language but it still cannot recognize. Check in order: whether the writing script of the video text matches the option (see “Find by Language”); whether the text is too small, too faint, or artistic text (for artistic text, use “Multilingual & Artistic Text Recognition”); change the recognition model size to “Medium” and try again.
Do I need to restart after switching languages? No. After changing it in “Select Device” and clicking confirm, the new language will be automatically loaded the next time you recognize. The setting will be retained the next time you start.
